Immediacy concept application in the teaching of courses in environmental healthDepartment of Environmental Safety, Kent State University, Tuscarawas Campus, New Philadelphia OH 44663 Immediacy, a communication behaviour, is defined and its application in the teaching of environmental health courses is illustrated. The practical experience gained from engaging in this teaching behaviour includes enhancement of student-professor relationships, affective learning and increased sensory stimulation, etc. The dynamics of this concept are exemplified in this article.
