The dental caries experience of five-year-old children in St HelenaDental Department, States of Guernsey Board of Health, Princess Elizabeth Hospital, Le Vauquaidor, St Martins, Guernsey GY4 6UU, Channel Islands This paper reports the results of a clinical dental caries survey of five-year-old children on the South Atlantic island of St Helena. The paper compares their caries prevalence in 2003 with that of contemporary five-year-old children in the United Kingdom, and those in St Helena in 1989, to assess the dental health of children and monitor the delivery of dental services on the island in the past 14 years.
